well.. getting back to reality always sucks.. especially when your major activity over the last few days has been to hunt for bargains all over town and generally just spending money without any qualms..
realised a lot of things along the way.. haha.. thanks to kiat's wise words of wisdoms at times and our argument over religion over one of the dinners.
hmm.. like when I said I couldn't help it that I was pampered.. cos well.. parents always like to keep their children close to them - he just said it takes two hands to clap and perhaps HONESTLY, it is me that is giving off this vulnerability vibe with my childish behaviour and piss poor street smart skills that is part of the cause.. haha... thanks kiat! (i mean it)
aniwez.. had fun, bought lotsa stuff, ate ridiculously cheap food (130baht for a lunch!?!), didn't see a single protested in sight, and generally had quite a full thai experience.. complete with a oft-painful thai massage. =)
can say lots about this.. but judging by how I did part 1/2/3 for taiwan and part 1/2 for tioman and STILL cannot complete them.. i guess I better not venture to embellish on the details this time round..
just some musings:-
1. honestly i cannot differentiate a transvestite/ girl/ girly guy there.. my gosh. seriously. it's like half of the salespeople were transvestites i think. thailand must be severly testosterone deprived or something. i think it has something to do with the language.. cos it's a lil' feminine with the continuous slurs and ka-s and so on..
2. i think MBK beats even Chatuchak in terms of better bargains and overhwelmingly better shopping conditions.. I completely could not do my "surveying the shops" routine at Chatuchak cos it was completely labirithine and massive. plus the weather.. omg.. seriously it became completely unbearable when it was 2 - 3 and honestly we were in no mood for shopping at all no matter how good the bargains were..
and seriously Patpong Market is a shithole where prices are jacked up 3 times and the vendors are so darn aggresive and cut throat.
Chinatown was another wasted trip with most shops posting a "wholesale only" sign. then honestly the stench from the food stalls can KILL at times, especially under the sweltering heat and in the cramped alleyways.
3. i pity people who buy true LV/rolex and so on there.. honestly i think they are just buying the certification of authenticity letter. after the first day, whatever LV product we saw people carrying we were dissing it as fake. haha!
